Community Union or Union Communautaire in french (UNICOM) is a community coalition initiatives regrouping people from various background for participatory development which serves as a main support to Lakou Association's projects within the community and youth outreach spheres. It encourages the participation and association of all Haitians rather they are living in the in Haiti or the abroad to partake into public life. UNICOM wants to propel individual to take leading role in the development of their communities, to innovate, be creative; unleash the spirit of volunterism as well as reinfocring appartenance to Haiti.
Through UNICOM individuals as well as families are able to obtain social services, training and seminar as social and technical support to help them in their journey toward social mobility and out of the grip of poverty. Participants to this program make a pledge to become active and socially responsible for the change that they aspire while Lakou Association provide them with necessary tools to not only create projects within their communities but many to become entrepreneur as well.

The objective is to generate a personal engagement and a action that is both national and trnasnational in ways for all Haitians can see himself as agent of change by their own contribution and to transform the dependency ideology to auto-development.

Through this program we provide school materials to parents for their children and equipments to underserved schools.
