UNICOM 

As tomorrow’s ancestors we encourage youth leadership and community coalition in ways to unravel the best of Haiti to pledge and commit to a new future for the generation to come. UNICOM is a community coalition initiatives regrouping people from various background for participatory development.  To learn more click on the picture above.

DIASPORA 

The Haitian Diaspora harbors negative stigmas added to the fact that it is often underserved. Lakou Association serves as a platform for the reinterpretation of Haiti and Haitians to dispel these negativities and enable the community to strive.  As Haiti has turned a new leaf it and the Diaspora being its first ambassadors, part of our work is to harness the Diaspora for a brain gain by encouraging them to become more engage in Haiti and enable them to have a positive visibility in Haiti.  Click on the picture to learn more.

MOZAIK 

Investing in human capacity is the key out of poverty. Lakou Association highlights education as a powerful force. Priority is given to technical and vocational studies, adult literacy as well as higher learning. Mozaik is the construction of five state-of-the-arts Technical and Vocational school in the main cities of Haiti.  Click on the picture above to learn more.

HEALTH 

Lakou Medical Volunteer Corps started right after the earthquake as an emergency response effort and is today part of Lakou's programming.  It is a group of Doctors, Nurse, Nurse's aide primarily Haitians who has devoted a portion of their time to give back by going to Haiti to provide primary care in Haiti for a specific period of time.  Through this program we have been able to save lives and help preventive wave ofdeath.  To learn more about this program click on the picture above.

MTHA 

Rebuilding Haiti embodies innovation and progress; to do so Lakou Association focuses on two major infra-structural projects which incorporates various stake-holders in a partnership for works that would propel real decentralization and expand basic services to remote areas in Haiti. PIDETWAL 

Lakou Leadership Award Gala is the annual fundraising effort of our organization.  This event pays tribute to the achievements of Haitians from Haiti and the Diaspora from various fields for their work and contribution in elevating and illuminating Haiti positively.  

 

Under the Pidetwal program we initiate programs focusing on changing the stigmas attached to Haiti both locally, nationally and transnationally. Click on the picture to learn more.
